Wilmore, Ky. -Â A pair of early goals lifted DePauw to a 3-0 non-conference win at Asbury. The Tigers improved to 5-3-3, while the Eagles dropped to 2-5-3.
Sam Thiel's goal with an assist from
Emiliano Quintanilla at 11:28 gave the Tigers all they needed.
Jack Powers scored at 21:37 before Thiel added a second goal with just under nine minutes left with an assist from
Tye Williams.
DePauw outshot Asbury, 15-9, including 11-3 in shots on goal. The Tigers also held an 8-2 edge in corners.Â
Alex Lundi recorded two saves in goal for DePauw, while
Ben Gale played the final 5:28 of the shutout. Collin McKibben stopped six shots for the Eagles.
DePauw returns to North Coast Athletic Conference action on Saturday, October 8, with a 3:30 p.m. game at Wooster.
