Tigers Open Season with Win over Rose-Hulman

Greencastle, Ind. - After sweeping doubles, DePauw took four of the six singles matches on the way to a 7-2 win over Rose-Hulman in the Tigers' season-opening match.

Lindsay Parks and Kat Wilder got the Tigers started with an 8-1 victory at second doubles over Fanny-Jane Banda and Ella Dorfmueller before the first doubles tandem of Erin Friedrich and Paige Bennett took an 8-2 victory over Breanna Rogers and Emma Goodman. The number-three doubles team of Katherine Price and Ellen Trautman completed the sweep with an 8-3 win over Ruby Kauffman and Julia McGuire.

Bennett pushed the lead to 4-1 with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Dorfmueller at fourth singles before Hannah Snider put Rose-Hulman on the board with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Trautman at number six. Parks clinched the team victory for DePauw with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Goodman at fifth singles.

Friedrich was a 6-3, 6-0 victor over Banda at first singles and Wilder followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win at third singles over Rogers. The Engineers' Taylor Goldman closed out the match with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Price.

DePauw hosts Illinois State tomorrow in a 10 a.m. match.
