Greencastle, Ind. - Coming off last Saturday's 26-21 first-round win over Rose-Hulman in the NCAA Division III Football Championship, 9-2 DePauw faces third-ranked and 11-0 Wisconsin-Whitewater in a second-round contest. Kickoff from Perkins Stadium in Whitewater, Wis., is set for Noon CST on Saturday, November 27. In addition to the live stats and video coverage, DePauw's WGRE (91.5) will broadcast live.
After jumping out to leads of 13-0 and 20-7 against the Engineers, DePauw held on in the closing minute for the win. Wis.-Whitewater also opened postseason play at home and defeated Greenville, 69-7.
The Tigers earned a spot in the 32-team field after winning the North Coast Athletic Conference title, while the Warhawks earned the automatic qualification by winning the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.
Saturday's matchup will be the first-ever between the two programs on the football field. DePauw is making its third appearance in the NCAA Championship and last Saturday was the Tigers' first win in the postseason.
The Warhawks are a mainstay in the Division III football postseason with six national championships (topped only by Mount Union's 13) and four runner-up finishes. Whitewater is appearing in the Championship for the 18th time overall and for the 14th time in the last 16. The Warhawks were the runners-up the last time a Championship was held after losing to North Central (Ill.) by a 41-14 score in 2019.
Tickets are available for online purchase ($14 adult, $10 seniors over 65, $10 child under 18). Parking may also be purchased online.
