Indianapolis, Ind. - DePauw, ranked 38th in Division III, dropped to 3-4 on the season following a 7-0 loss at Division I Butler. The Bulldogs moved to 6-6.
Butler picked up the doubles point with wins at second and third. DePauw's Meredith Breda and Emma Love were leading at first doubles by a 5-2 score before play was stopped.
Butler then took straight-set victories at five of the six spots with Love taking Caroline McAuley to three sets before falling by a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 score.
The Tigers host Bellarmine on March 15 in an exhibition match scheduled for 10 a.m.
