Box Score Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw shot a season-high 54.8 percent from the field and outrebounded visiting Hiram by 28 on the way to a 94-45 North Coast Athletic Conference victory. The Tigers, ranked sixth in the latest coaches' poll and eighth by D3hoops.com, moved to 13-1 overall with their ninth straight win and improved to 5-0 in NCAC play. Hiram dropped to 3-10 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
The Tigers never trailed in the contest and built as much as a 15-point lead in the opening quarter before heading to the quarter break with a 22-7 advantage. DePauw closed the half with a 9-0 stretch to take a 39-16 halftime lead. Early in the third, Hiram trimmed the deficit to 21 at 47-26, but a 19-2 DePauw run sealed the victory.
Claire Keefe led the Tigers with a career-high 24 points, while Sydney Kopp followed with 23. Kopp passed Kelly Morrison (1995-99) on DePauw's all-time scoring list where she now ranks fifth. Hayley Cange paced the Tigers with 10 rebounds as DePauw held a 52-24 edge on the boards for a 25-9 second-chance points advantage. Grace Kinsey equaled a career-high with seven assists.
TT Wright paced Hiram with 21 points and four assists, while Amanda Holzman grabbed six rebounds.
Included in DePauw's season-high shooting from the floor was a 66.7 percent second-half performance. Hiram hit 29.5 percent from the floor for the game DePauw committed just nine turnovers to the Terriers' 16 and held a 26-2 margin in points off of turnovers.
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 11, when it hosts Wooster in a 3 p.m. NCAC contest.
