Box Score Greencastle, Ind. - Three Tigers scored in double figures as DePauw took over sole possession of first place in the North Coast Athletic Conference with a 69-50 win over visiting Allegheny. DePauw, ranked sixth in the latest coaches' poll and eighth by D3hoops.com, improved to 12-1 overall and 4-0 in the NCAC with its eighth straight win, while the Gators slipped to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
The Tigers grabbed a 30-19 halftime lead after Sydney Kopp hit a 3-pointer and a jumper in the final 1:04. The Gators were back within nine at 34-25 following a 6-0 run early in the third, but DePauw scored the next four to start a 9-3 stretch that pushed the lead to 43-28.
DePauw took a 52-32 lead into the fourth after Claire Keefe beat the quarter buzzer with a three. The guests were no closer than 16 the rest of the way.
Kopp paced DePauw with 19 points, while Keefe added 12 and Campbell Montgomery 10. Hayley Cange led with nine rebounds and Montgomery snagged eight as the Tigers held a 39-35 edge on the boards.
Zoe Youdell led Allegheny with 12 points and eight rebounds and Alexis Caldwell followed with 11 points.
DePauw shot 37.1 percent from the floor to Allegheny's 34.0 percent and the Tigers hit 7 of 18 from 3-point range.
The Tigers return to action tomorrow when they host Hiram at 4 p.m.
