DePauw Finishes Third at NCAC Championships; Hackley's 1,000 Free Split is School Record

Granville, Ohio - DePauw totaled 1,123 points and finished third at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships for the eighth time in as many years as its competed in the conference. Denison won with 1,851 and Kenyon was second with 1,829.5.

Tommy Hackley posted DePauw's top finish by placing fifth in the 1,6500-yard freestyle in 16:05.71 and his 1,000-yard split of 9:38.97 set a school record. Jack Christie was sixth (16:09.85) and Charlie Stewart-Bates seventh (16:21.65). Hackley and Christie's times also were NCAA "B" cuts.

Ryan Smith was sixth in the 100 individual medley (53.90) and Xavier Fuller eighth (54.10). Adam Pircon paced the Tigers in the 200 backstroke (1:53.25), while Seth Fagen was ninth (1;57.67). Josh McCown also qualified for the championship finals in the 200 butterfly and was eighth (1:53.73).

The Tigers' 400 free relay of Will Serf, Pircon, Matt Wilson and Jake Frech was fifth in 3:07.48.
