Box Score Oberlin, Ohio - Tenth-ranked DePauw fought off a late Oberlin charge and held on for a 59-49 North Coast Athletic Conference victory. The Tigers moved to 8-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference, while the Yeowomen dropped to 2-5 overall and 1-1 in NCAC play.
DePauw never trailed in the contest and held a 9-8 lead after the first period. Oberlin stayed close in the second before the Tigers took a double-digit lead into the intermission at 26-16.
The Tigers expanded that margin to 18 in the third after outscoring the hosts, 19-11, in the quarter for a 45-27 lead as the teams moved to the fourth. DePauw was held scoreless over the first four minutes of the final period as Oberlin trimmed the deficit to 10.
Oberlin got as close as five at 54-49 with 2:14 left, but Sydney Kopp hit a bucket and two free throws and Imani Graham added a charity toss, while the defense held the Yeowomen scoeless the rest of the way.
Kopp and Campbell Montgomery each scored 15 in the win, while Montgomery also grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double that included a pair of career highs. Maeve Summerville added 10 points.
Sammy Spanier led Oberlin with 15 points, while Leo Ross added 11 and Cheyenne Arthur 10. Jasmine Sorrells grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and Arthur dished out four assists and recorded four steals.
DePauw shot 32.7 percent to Oberlin's 27.1 percent and the Tigers held a 48-32 edge on the boards.
The Tigers return to action on Sunday, December 15, with a 3 p.m. PST game against Chapman at Whittier College.
