#19 Tigers Roll to Win at Denison

Granville, Ohio - DePauw closed the first half on an 18-2 run before outscoring Denison, 45-11, in the second half on the way to a 78-29 North Coast Athletic Conference road victory.

The Tigers, ranked 19th by D3hoops.com and 20th in the latest coaches' poll, improved to 13-3 overall and 7-0 in the NCAC, while the Big Red dropped to 8-7 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

Denison led 16-15 with just under six minutes left in the second quarter, but DePauw scored the next 15 points to take the lead for good. Following a 33-18 halftime lead, DePauw closed the third period with a 15-0 stretch to push the lead to 30.

Claire Keefe led DePauw with 16 points, while Maya Howard followed with 15 and Mya Shannon 12. Lauren Longbrake scored 12 points, off the bench, to pace Denison.

Hayley Cange grabbed eight rebounds to lead DePauw which held a 45-28 edge on the boards. Longbrake, along with Valesha Province and Aliyah Hunter, each hauled down six boards for the hosts. Grace Kinsey dished out a career-high seven assists.

The Tigers shot 58.2 percent from the floor including 64.3 percent in the second half. Denison shot 21.1 percent for the game.

DePauw retruns home on Saturday, January 12, to face Ohio Wesleyan in a 1 p.m. contest.
