Tigers Move On To NCAC Championship

Gambier, Ohio -- The DePauw women's tennis team took another 5-0 win on Saturday, this time by defeating 36th-ranked and fourth seeded Oberlin College in the semifinal of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship.

The 26th-ranked Tigers took close wins in the first two doubles positions. At No. 1 Maddie Lee and Gretchen Wilder defeated Sarah Hughes and Emma Brezel 8-5, and at No. 2 doubles Meredith Breda and Alyssa Seneviratne won 8-6. At No. 3 doubles Megan Galle and Sarah Wilder took an 8-1 win.

In singles play, Lee finished off Hughes 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 1 spot, and Ali Bush defeated Mayada Audeh 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 3 flight. The remainder of the matches were left unfinished.

DePauw is now 15-6 overall. They will play in the championship at 9 a.m. tomorrow against Kenyon after the Ladies topped Denison, 5-3, in the other semifinal match.
