Santa Barbara, Calif. -- The DePauw women's tennis team defeated Westmont 7-2 on Tuesday to start their spring break trip with a win.
DePauw (6-4) started the match by sweeping doubles play. Maddie Lee and Gretchen Wilder won 8-5; Alyssa Seneviratne and Meredith Breda won 8-1; and Megan Galle and Sarah Wilder won 8-4.
Westmont (2-13) took the first and second flights in singles action. Ali Bush then won at No. 3 singles 6-2, 7-6 (7-1).
At No. 4 singles Colleen Morris won 6-1, 6-3. At No. 5 Seneviratne won 6-1, 6-2, and at No. 6 Galle won 6-1, 6-0.
DePauw will return to action Wednesday to face Gustavus Adolphus.
