Box Score

Gambier, Ohio - For the first time since late November, tenth-ranked DePauw suffered defeat as host Kenyon handed the Tigers a 70-64 North Coast Athletic Conference loss. DePauw had already locked up the top seed for the NCAC Tournament on Wednesday, while Kenyon solidified the second seed with today's win.

The Tigers scored the game's first five points, but Kenyon closed the gap and took a 13-12 lead after the first quarter. DePauw again gained a five-point advantage after Claire Ryan's three-pointer and layup made it 24-19 with 1:55 remaining in the half. The Ladies, however, scored the final four of the half to close DePauw's lead to 24-23 at the break.

Sydney Kopp's free throw and three-pointer early in the third pushed the lead back to five at 28-23, but Kenyon scored five straight to even the score at 28-28. Kenyon grabbed a four-point lead in the third, but DePauw countered with five straight to regain the lead. The teams headed to the final quarter tied 46-46 after Ryan's free throw with one second left.

DePauw missed its first five field goal tries of the fourth and added a turnover, while Kenyon's Charlotte Bussema and Bailey Dominguez each scored layups.

A Taylor Howard tip-in and Maya Howard jumper evened the count at 50-50. The Tigers stayed close, but trailed the rest of the way. After Maya Howard hit two free throws with 50 seconds left, Dominguez came right back with a three-pointer that pushed Kenyon's lead to 66-62 with 29 seconds remaining.

The Tigers missed a couple of tries on their next possession before Melinda Franke grabbed a rebound and then hit two free throws with 12 seconds left to trim the lead back to two. Kenyon's Lane Davis knocked in two free throws with eight seconds left before the Tigers missed a three-pointer and Kenyon's Jessica Gerber ended the scoring with two more charity tosses.

Ryan paced DePauw with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Taylor Howard added 14 points and Maya Howard 13.

Dominguez scored a game-high 16 for Kenyon, while Sidney Cera added 11. Ifeoma Archimalo came off the bench for seven rebounds.

DePauw shot 34.0 percent from the field to Kenyon's 46.2 percent and Kenyon nailed 15-of-17 free throws to DePauw's 23-of-33. The Tigers outrebouded Kenyon 36-26, but committed 16 turnovers to the Ladies' 12.
