Milwaukee, Wis. - Maya Howard poured in a career-high 25 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists to lead 15th-ranked DePauw to a 78-67 win over Luther in the Paul Knueppel Classic at Wisconsin Lutheran College. The Tigers moved to 2-0, while the Norse dropped to 1-2.

Luther scored the game's first bucket, but that was its only lead of the game as the Tigers followed with a 9-1 run and took a 19-12 advantage at the quarter break. DePauw expanded that lead to 41-28 at the half as it led by as many as 16 in the second quarter.

The Norse closed the gap to six in the third, but DePauw responded with a 9-2 stretch to grab a 59-46 lead after three.

In addition to Howard's 25, Sydney Kopp added 17 points and a game-high nine rebounds, while Claire Keefe scored 14. Howard was named to the all-Classic Team.

Claire Marburger paced the Norse with 20 points followed by Sarah Holtz with 14, Erin Saemrow with 11 and Katie Waller 10.

DePauw connected on 41.2 percent from the floor to Luther's 42.9 percent and the Tigers knocked in 8 of 15 from three-point range as Kopp hit 5 of 7. A big difference in the game was on the boards as the Tigers held a 48-29 advantage and grabbed 20 offensive rebounds for a 17-6 edge in second-chance points.

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, November 21, when they travel to Franklin for a 6 p.m. contest.
