Madison, Wis. - The 16th-ranked Tigers opened play at the Midwest Invitational with a 6-3 loss to Kenyon in the quarterfinal round. DePauw dropped to 6-8 with the loss, while the Ladies improved to 8-7. The Tigers face Carthage in the consolation bracket tomorrow at 1 p.m. CDT.
Kenyon grabbed a 2-1 lead after doubles with DePauw's lone win coming at the first spot as Maddie Lee and Gretchen Wilder topped Samantha Murphy and Alyssa Moreau, 9-8.
The Ladies expanded the lead to 4-1 with wins at third and fourth singles before Alyssa Senevirante defeated Jenna Murray 7-5, 6-3 at the second spot. Kenyon clinched the win with a victory at first singles. DePauw's final point came at sixth singles as Megan Galle won over Annie Reiener 6-0, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5).
