Atlanta, Ga. - In a matchup of top 15 teams, the 15th-ranked Tigers lost to 10th-ranked Sewanee, 5-1 as part of the Fab 5 Tournament. DePauw dropped to 6-6, while Sewanee improved to 11-5.
The Tigers' lone point came in doubles as the number-two duo of Alyssa Senevirante and Ali Bush topped Bea Benavides and Sara Thompson 9-8 (7-3). Sewanee's number-one team of Lindsey Liles and Clementina Davila defeated DePauw's Maddie Lee and Gretchen Wilder, 8-2, while the third tandem of Annie Veron and Maggie Crumbliss were 8-5 winners over DePauw's Colleen Morris and Megan Galle.
In singles play, Liles was a 6-3, 6-4 winner over Lee at the number-one spot with Christina Merchant taking a 6-0, 6-2 win over Wilder at number three and Crumbliss topping Morris by a 6-0, 6-4 score at fourth singles.
DePauw faces fourth-ranked Emory tomorrow at 9 a.m.
