Gambier, Ohio - DePauw missed all 16 of its first-quarter field goal tries and couldn't recover in a 60-53 North Coast Athletic Conference loss at Kenyon.

The Tigers dropped to 10-5 overall and 4-2 in the NCAC, while the Ladies improved to 9-5 overall and 3-2 in the conference. The defeat marked the first time since 2009 DePauw has suffered two consecutive losses and the first time since December of 2002 they've dropped two straight regular season contests.

While the Tigers struggled from the field in the opening quarter, Kenyon scored the game's first 11 points. Emily Budde's two free throws broke the run, but were DePauw's only points in the quarter as Kenyon took a 16-2 lead after one.

The second quarter told a different story as the Tigers connected on 6-of-13 from the floor to Kenyon's 1-of-9. DePauw opened the quarter with a 9-0 run to trim the Ladies' lead to 16-11. The Tigers got as close as three before Kenyon took a 24-19 lead to the halftime intermission.

Kenyon extended the margin to eight in the third before DePauw cut the gap to 39-35 at the quarter break. The Ladies pushed the lead to 13 at 53-40 with 3:41 remaining before DePauw scored nine straight to cut the gap to 53-49 with 1:28 left. That was as close as the Tigers got as Kenyon hit 7-of-10 free throws in the last 40 seconds.

Maya Howard led DePauw with 16 points, while Emily Budde followed with 12. Abby Keller grabbed 11 rebounds and Budde finished with three steals.

Bailey Doninguez paced Kenyon with 14 points with Miranda Diesz chipping in 13 and Sidney Cera 11. Ifeoma Archimalo hauled down nine rebounds.

DePauw shot just 32.8 percent from the floor and connected on only 2-of-17. Kenyon shot 38.5 percent from the field. The Tigers outrebounded Kenyon 38-37.

The Tigers host Wittenberg at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13.
