Gambier, Ohio - For the fourth straight year, 14th-ranked DePauw won the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship after blanking Denison, 6-0.
The Tigers improved to 14-8 and earned their automatic qualification into the NCAA Division III Championships. DePauw will be making its 14th postseason appearance and 11th consecutive. The Big Red dropped to 15-8.
DePauw's Claire Marshall and Maggie MacPhail put their team on the board first with an 8-2 win at first doubles over Taylor Hawkins and Meg Chiumento. The second doubles duo of Julie Wittwer and Kaitlin Pickrel topped Rochell Issa and Courtney Brown by an 8-2 count, while the third doubles tandem of Taylor Mahr and Carolyn Huerth defeated Heather Abzug and Emily Holloway, 8-1.
Huerth made it 4-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Abzug at sixth singles and Pickrel wrapped up the team win with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Holloway. Claire Marshall then won her first singles match over Hawkins by a 6-1, 6-1 count.
The Division III pairings will be announced on May 4.
