Gambier, Ohio - Three-time defending champion and top-seed DePauw advanced to the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship semifinals with this morning's 5-0 quarterfinal win over eighth-seeded Wittenberg. The Tigers improved to 12-8, while Wittenberg dropped to 1-12.
Taylor Mahr and Carolyn Huerth were off the courts first at third doubles following an 8-0 win over Jessica Harting and Kaelee Tobin, while the second doubles tandem of Kaitlin Pickrel and Julie Wittwer followed with an 8-0 victory over Lexi Garza and Trista Davis. The number-one duo of Claire Marshall and Maggie MacPhail topped Rayika Karachiwalla and Meghan Depew by an 8-1 count.
DePauw wrapped up the match as Wittwer defeated Davis at fourth singles 6-0. 6-0 and Pickrel was a 6-0, 6-0 victor over Harting at fifth singles.
The Tiger will face the Allegheny/Kenyon winner in tomorrow's 11 a.m. semifinal match.
