Greencastle, Ind. - The 18th-ranked Tigers dropped to 3-4 tonight following a 6-3 loss to visiting Hope College. The Flying Dutch improved to 2-1 with the win.
Hope jumped out to a 3-0 lead after sweeping doubles. Claire Marshall picked up a win at first singles over Nancy Benda 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8), while Kaitlin Pickrel also was a three-set winner over Paige Courts at fourth singles 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-7). The Tigers' other win came at sixth singles where Carolyn Huerth topped Natalie Rahrig 6-0, 7-5.
The Tigers host ninth-ranked Chicago on Sunday, March 8, at 10 a.m. in a rematch of last Friday's opening round of the ITA Championship. The Maroons took a 6-3 win in that one.
