Lexington, Va. - The 14th-ranked Tigers wrapped up their spring break trip with an 8-1 loss to top-ranked Emory. DePauw dropped to 7-7, while the Eagles improved to 11-3.
DePauw trailed 2-1 after doubles as Claire Marshall and Maggie MacPhail defeated Anna Fuhr and Michelle Satterfield by a 9-7 score at the number one spot.
Emory's second doubles team of Bridget Harding and Katarina Su topped Julie Wittwer and Kaitlin Pickrel 8-6, while the Eagles' third doubles tandem of Melissa Goodman and Madison Gordon were 8-4 winners over Taylor Mahr and Carolyn Huerth.
Emory swept the singles competition with first and second singles each going to a third set. At number one singles, Satterfield beat Marshall 4-6, 7-6 (7-1), 1-0 (10-2) and Su topped MacPhail 5-7, 6-0, 1-0 (10-7)
Goodman was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Mahr at third singles with Harding taking a 6-0, 6-1 win over Wittwer at the fourth spot.
At fifth singles, Gordon beat Pickrel 6-2, 6-1, while Julie Fowler topped Maddie Lee at the sixth spot 6-0, 6-1.
DePauw returns to action on Friday, April 3, at the Midwest Invitational in Madison, Wis.
