Lexington, Va. - The 14th-ranked Tigers dropped to 6-5 on the season after losing a 5-0 decision at 10th-ranked Washington and Lee. The Generals improved to 11-3 with the victory.
All three doubles matches were decided by 8-4 scores as DePauw's number-one tandem of Claire Marshall and Maggie MacPhail lost to Sonja Meighan and Patrick Kirkland, while the second doubles team of Julie Witter and Kaitlin Pickrel lost to Meghan Buell and Brooke Donnelly. DePauw's third doubles squad of Taylor Mahr and Carolyn Huerth fell to Kelsey Vella and Michelle Fleenor.
The match was played to a decision as Donnelly defeated Marshall at number-one singles 6-2, 6-2 and Fleenor topped Maddie Lee at number six 6-4, 6-3.
DePauw returns to action tomorrow when it faces third-ranked Williams in an 11 a.m. match at Washington and Lee.
