Greencastle, Ind. - The 17th-ranked Tigers lost just one game each in doubles and singles and easily defeated Wittenberg, 9-0, in a North Coast Athletic Conference West Division match on the DePauw Indoor Courts. DePauw improved to 5-4 with the win, while Wittenberg dropped to 1-2.
The number-one doubles team of Julie Wittwer and Kaitlin Pickrel blanked Rayika Karachiwalla and Georgia Bennett as did the number-three duo of Maddie Lee and Gretchen Wilder over Trista Davis and Kaelee Tobin. Claire Marshall and Taylor Mahr were 8-1 winners over Meghan Depew and Lexi Garza at second doubles.
At first singles, Marshall blanked Karachiwalla 6-0, 6-0, while Mahr was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Georgia Bennett at the second spot. Wittwer defeated Depew 6-0, 6-0 at number three with Pickrel topping Garza 6-0, 6-1, at the number four position.
At fifth singles, Lee blanked Davis 6-0, 6-0 with Gretchen Wilder doing the same to Jessica Harting at sixth singles.
DePauw travels to Kenyon this Saturday for a 9 a.m. match.
