Greencastle, Ind. - After dropping its first match of the day to Sewanee, 5-4, the 11th-ranked Tigers rallied to defeat Skidmore, 6-3, in the seventh-place match that ended in the early hours of Sunday.

With the split, DePauw moved to 3-3 on the season.

DePauw trailed Sewanee, 2-1, after doubles play as Julie Wittwer and Kaitlin Pickrel defeated Christina Merchant and Clementina Davila at second doubles, 8-6.

In singles play, the host Tigers were victorious at number three s Taylor Mahr defeated Maggie Crumbliss 1-6, 6-4, 6-3. Wittwer took a 6-2, 6-1 win over Davila at number four 6-2, 6-1 and Maddie Lee was a 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6) winner at sixth singles.

In the Skidmore match, DePauw took a 2-1 lead after doubles as Claire Marshall and Maggie MacPhail topped Zoe Valella and Yumi Karlshoej, 8-4, at the top spot, while Wittwer and Pickrel were 8-5 winners over Michelle Fuca and Caroline Finnegan at number two.

Marshall defeated Valella at first singles 6-0, 6-3 and MacPhail tool a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Danielle Giannetti at the second spot.

Witter then topped Erica Meno 6-3, 5-7-6-2 and Lee won over Finnegan 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4).

The Tigers host Hope on Thursday, March 5, at 4:30 p.m.
