800 Free Relay Finishes Seventh with School Record Finish

Indianapolis, Ind. - DePauw's 800-yard freestyle relay wrapped up the third day of NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship competition at the IU Natatorium in style as the Tigers broke the school record and finished seventh to earn all-America honors.

The DePauw foursome of Casey Hooker (Jr., Rensselaer, Ind./Rensselear Central), Alex Grissom (So., Franklin, Ind./Franklin),. Stephen McMurtry (So., Fort Wright, Ky./Covington Latin) and Matt Haeske (Jr., Western Springs, Ill./Lyons Township) touched in 6:39.81 which bested the previous school mark of 6:40.36 set at last year's national meet.

Hooker finished 16th in the 200 butterfly in 1:50.64 after swimming a 1:50.04 in the prelims. Matt Gleason (Sr., New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) was 16th in the 100 breaststroke in 56.33.

DePauw's 70 points are good for 15th place headed into Saturday's final day of competition.
