10th-Ranked DePauw Moves to 8-2 with Shutout over Wittenberg

Greencastle, Ind. - The 10th-ranked Tigers improved to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference West Division play following a 9-0 win over Wittenberg at the Indoor Tennis and Track Center. Wittenberg dropped to 5-3 on the season.

The Tigers swept the doubles competition and lost just one game in the process. Caroline Emhardt and Maggie MacPhail picked up an 8-1 win over Olivia Underwood and Chelsea Reeder at first singles, while Meg Crowley and Claire Marshall topped Morgan McDermott and Jaimie Whaley, 8-0, at the number-two spot. The third doubles tandem of Julie Wittwer and Kaitlin Pickrel also were 8-0 victors over Andrea Gaietto and Lexi Garza.

It was much of the same in singles play as the host Tigers lost just three games and none in the third through sixth flights.

The Tigers return to action on Monday, March 24, when they take on Wisconsin-Whitewater on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
