Claremont, Calif. - In a matchup of two teams ranked in the top 10 in NCAA Division III play, number-nine Claremont-Mudd-Scripps handed eighth-ranked DePauw a 7-2 loss.
The Tigers picked up a point in doubles play as the number-one tandem of Meg Crowley and Claire Marshall topped Kristin Lim and Abby Hayley 8-6. DePauw's lone singles win came at the third spot where Crowley topped Crystal Lim 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
DePauw dropped to 8-6 with the loss, while Claremont improved to 14-0. All six of the Tigers' losses have come to teams ranked in the top 13 in the nation.
DePauw wraps up the California trip tomorrow with a match against 18th-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater.
