West Lafayette, Ind. - DePauw opened the season at the Indiana Intercollegiates and totaled 276 points to finish third among the seven-school field.
Casey Hooker turned in a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:42.51 and was third in the 500 free in 4:47.93. Blake Lehmann placed third in the 100 free in 47.28 seconds and was sixth in the 50 free in 21.41.
Alex Grissom was fifth in the 200 free in 1:45.42 and seventh in the 500 free in 4:53.27. Stephen McMurtry was fifth in the 500 free (4:50.95), while Danny McGuiness finished sixth in the 100 free (48.43). Alex Alfonso turned in a seventh-place performance in the 200 individual medley (1:59.82) as did George Morrison in the 100 backstroke (54.30).
DePauw's 200 medley relay of Morrison, Andrew Petersen, Hooker and Jack Burgeson was second in 1:36.38, while the 200 free relay of Lehmann, Alfonso, McGuiness and Burgeson was also runners-up in 1:25.56.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, November 2, with a 1 p.m. CDT meet at Washington-St. Louis.
