#9 DePauw Drops to 1-1 with Loss at Franklin

November 19, 2011, Franklin, Ind. — Franklin's Sarah Condra hit two three-pointers in the final 1:39 which turned a one-point deficit into a three-point lead and helped the hosts to a 52-47 win over ninth-ranked DePauw in the championship game of the Franklin Tipoff Tournament. Franklin improved to 3-0 with the win, while the Tigers dropped to 1-1.

DePauw built as much as a nine-point lead at 34-25 early in the second half after Ali Ross nailed a three-pointer with just under 15 minutes remaining. 

The Tigers still led by as many as five with less than seven minutes remaining, but Franklin went on a 5-0 run to tie the score at 41-41. The Grizzlies took their first lead of the game at 44-43 on Annie Tarkington's  two free throws with 2:06 left.

Kate Walker's jumper gave DePauw a 45-44 advantage before Condra came right back with a three to put Franklin ahead, 47-45. DePauw's Savannah Trees responded with a layup to tie the score at 47-47 with 1:30 left.

Franklin turned the ball over on its next possession, but the Tigers couldn't convert on the other end and the Grizzlies rebounded. Condra then knocked down another three which gave Franklin a 50-47 lead with only 31 seconds left. Trees missed a three-pointer with five seconds left and the Grizzlies hit a pair of free throws with two seconds left to secure the win.

Katie Aldrich was DePauw's lone double-figure scorer with 16 and was named to the all-tournament team. Ellie Pearson led the Tigers with nine boards, but Franklin held a 35-31 edge on the boards.

Condra paced Franklin with 25 points with Kasey Dollens grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds.

DePauw shot just 32.7 percent from the floor to Franklin's 37.2 percent. The Grizzlies knocked in five more three-pointers and four free throws.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, November 26, when they face 13th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan at Washington-St. Louis' tournament.
