#12 DePauw Women Win 18th Straight SCAC Game

89408January 8, 2011, Atlanta, Ga. —  Freshman Ali Ross hit six three-pointers and scored a career-high 22 points to lead 12th-ranked DePauw to a 71-48 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win at Oglethorpe. 

The Tigers improved to 11-2 overall and 4-0 in SCAC play with their 18th straight conference win. Oglethorpe dropped to 3-9 overall and 2-2 in league play.

DePauw held a 22-18 lead with just over seven minutes left in the first half before scoring 15 straight to push the lead to 19 on the way to a 37-20 halftime lead.

The Stormy Petrels trimmed the lead to 13 on a couple of occasions in the second half before DePauw put the game away with a 16-4 stretch.

Ross (pictured) knocked down six-of-10 three-pointers and finished with a game-high 22 points in 20 minutes. Katie Aldrich followed with 17 points and Ellie Pearson grabbed 13 rebounds and five steals. Kathryn Denbow dished out a career-high eight assists.

Kelley Reeves paced Oglethorpe with 11 points with Katie Weeks adding 10. Sarah Giles grabbed seven rebounds in the loss.

DePauw outrebounded Oglethorpe, 47-35 and committed just nine turnovers to Oglethorpe's 20.

The Tigers travel to Sewanee for a Noon CST contest tomorrow, while Oglethorpe hosts Centre tomorrow afternoon
