January 22, 2011, Georgetown, Texas — The ninth-ranked Tigers held host Southwestern to its season low in points and DePauw rolled to a 77-47 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over the Pirates.
DePauw improved to 15-3 overall and 8-1 in the SCAC, while Southwestern dropped to 13-5 overall and 5-4 in league play.
Southwestern scored the game's first points, but DePauw's Lauren Goff knocked down a three-pointer and the Tigers never trailed again. DePauw expanded a seven-point lead to 17 with a 12-2 run in the first half and led by as many as 28 on the way to a 47-21 lead at the intermission.
The Pirates got as close as 25 early in the second half, but DePauw stretched the margin to as many as 39 on two occasions.
Four DePauw players scored in double figures led by Katie Aldrich (pictured) with 17. Goff hit four threes for 12 points, while Kate Walker also scored 12 and Ellie Pearson added 10. Pearson snagged 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season and Aldrich grabbed eight boards. Katie Mathews dished out a career-high nine assists with just one turnover.
Shae Seagraves was Southwestern's lone double-figure scorer with 10 and Chelsea Leeder hauled down five boards with Anna Gareed handing out three assists.
DePauw shot 45.2 percent for the game including 52.6 percent in the first half, while the Pirates connected on just 27.8 percent and missed on all 10 three-point attempts. The Tigers also held a 48-33 edge on the glass and committed just seven turnovers.
The Tigers host Colorado College on Friday, January 28, at 6 p.m.
