February 19, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw, ranked 16th in the latest USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll and 17th by D3hoops.com, picked up its 17th straight win with a 64-44 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over Rhodes.
The Tigers improved to 21-3 overall, 14-1 in the SCAC and extended their home win streak to 48 straight. DePauw also collected its 65th consecutive regular season home win and 53rd straight SCAC victory at the Neal Fieldhouse. Rhodes dropped to 13-11 overall and 6-9 in the SCAC.
After leading 14-9 midway through the first half, the Tigers scored eight straight to take a 22-9 advantage on the way to a 34-21 lead at the intermission.
DePauw extended that lead to 48-24 before the Lynx closed the margin to 52-37 with just under six minutes remaining. A 10-2 run over the next 2:21 put the game away.
Brooke Osborne (pictured) led DePauw with 13 points, while Katie Aldrich followed with 12 and Jenna Fernandez 10. Becky Atnip paced Rhodes with 15.
Ellie Pearson grabbed eight rebounds as the Tigers held a 40-23 edge on the boards.Sharwil Bell and Becca Clarin each had five boards for Rhodes. DePauw's Katie Mathews and Kate Walker each totaled four assists, while LaKeya McGill dished out three for the Lynx.
The Tigers shot 47.4 percent from the field to Rhodes' 35.0 percent.
DePauw hosts Birmingham-Southern on Sunday with tipoff slated for Noon at the Neal Fieldhouse.
