January 29, 2010, Sherman, Texas — The 24th-ranked DePauw women's basketball team extended its win streak to 12 and improved to 16-3 overall and 9-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 68-37 win at Austin. The Kangaroos dropped to 14-4 overall and 8-2 in the conference.
The Tigers scored 17 straight points in the middle of the first half to take a 28-10 lead. DePauw went to the break with a 39-14 lead. The Tigers led by as many as 40 in the second half at 65-25.
Katie Aldrich (pictured) was DePauw's lone double-figure scorer with 13 points, while Emily Marshall grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the nation's leader in rebound margin to a 40-31 advantage on the boards. Lauren Goff dished out five assists in the win.
Kersti Marusich led Austin with eight points, while Eric McDaniel hauled down six boards. Amber Stafford led the way with three assists.
The Tigers shot 50.9 percent from the floor to Austin's 28.3 percent.
DePauw travels to Colorado College for a 6 p.m. MST game tomorrow evening.
