September 12, 2009, Anderson, Ind. —  The 23rd-ranked Tigers rolled up a school-record 665 yards including a record 494 through the air on the way to a 55-7 win at Anderson. DePauw improved to 1-0 in interim head coach Robby Long's debut, while the Ravens dropped to 0-2.

The Tigers set the tone on the game's first possession as they drove 90 yards in 13 plays with Spud Dick tossing a 20-yard score to Alex Koors. Perhaps the most impressive part of the opening series was the fact that DePauw converted three third downs and one fourth down.

The defense stopped the Ravens on their first series before DePauw drove 93 yards in six plays of the next drive with Dick completing a 19-yard scoring pass to Koors.

Later in the first, Dick and Koors teamed up for a third time on a 3-yard scoring play giving DePauw a 20-0 lead with three seconds left in the quarter. Dick completed 15-of-17 passes in the opening quarter for 230 yards.
 
Following an Anderson three-and-out, DePauw made it 27-0 with an 11-play, 66-yard drive capped by Dick's 2-yard pass to tight end Mark Branigan. The Tigers extended the lead to 34-0 with Dick's 4-yard scoring pass to Bryan Mulligan with just 23 seconds remaining in the half.

Following a scoreless third, the Tigers reached paydirt again in the fourth on Jon Ellis' 40-yard scamper down the sideline. after Eddie Schmidt picked off a Nick Sharp pass on the first play of Anderson's next series, Michael Engle and Colin Hertel teamed for a 47-yard score to make it 48-0.

Anderson got on the board with 8:59 remaining in the game on Sharp's 33-yard pass to Darryl Stott and DePauw rounded out the scoring on Engle's 1-yard keeper with 3:00 left.

DePauw's 665 total yards broke the 34-year old mark of 626 set against Principia in 1975, while the  494 passing yards topped the record of 486 established in 2000 against Hope.

Dick completed 31-of-40 passes for a career-high 405 yards in three quarters. That total was the fifth-best performance in school history. His five touchdown passes tied a school record which he already shared with several players.

Koors hauled in 12 passes for 209 yards and his three touchdown catches tied a school record. Mulligan caught nine for 80 yards. The Tigers totaled 171 rushing yards including a career-best 103 by Derrick Karazsia.

Stott led Anderson with 72 rushing yards, while Chris Russell caught seven passes for 40 yards.

DePauw's defense limited Anderson to just 246 yards including only 80 in the first half. Adam Hawkins led the Tigers with nine tackles, while Ryan Preuss and Jonathan Lambert each had four. Lambert, Schmidt and P.J. Gbur each had an interception and Preuss recovered a fumble.

Ry Hildenbrand paced Anderson with 15 tackles including two for loss, while Nic Jackson and Luke Hurst each totaled 11.

DePauw opens Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play and its home season on Saturday, September 19, when it hosts Centre at 1 p.m.
