December 21, 2009, Berea, Ohio — DePauw never trailed and improved to 6-3 with a 69-42 victory at Baldwin-Wallace. The Yellow Jackets dropped to 5-4 with the loss.
The Tigers outscored Baldwin-Wallace 8-2 in the closing 1:22 of the first half on the strength of 6-of-6 free throw shooting to take a 31-20 lead at the break.
Baldwin-Wallace trimmed the DePauw lead to 35-27 in the first two minutes of the second half, but the Tigers scored 13 straight including six on a pair of Brooke Osborne threes to expand the lead to 48-27.
The Yellow Jackets scored the next six, but DePauw matched it and the hosts got no closer than 20 the rest of the way.
Katie Aldrich (pictured) led DePauw with 17 points, while Katie Mathews added 12. Emily Marshall hauled down a game-high 10 rebounds as the Tigers held a 46-20 advantage on the boards.
DePauw also snagged 19 offensive rebounds which led to a 15-2 differential in second-chance points. Mathews and Marshall each finished with four assists, while Marshall and Goff had three steals apiece.
Amanda Schroeder led the Yellow Jackets with 10 points with Catherine Spisak grabbing seven boards.
DePauw shot 41.4 percent from the floor to the Yellow Jackets' 37.0 percent. The Tigers knocked down 18-of-22 free throws and committed 13 turnovers compared to Baldwin-Wallace's 5-of-9 from the line and 17 turnovers.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, December 29, when they host Northland College in the Amy Hasbrook Memorial Tournament.
