11th-ranked DePauw Rolls to Fourth SCAC Victory

January 11, 2008, Memphis, Tenn. - The 11th-ranked Tigers improved to 11-2 overall and 4-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference following a 76-39 victory at Rhodes. The Lynx dropped to 6-6 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

DePauw never trailed as it jumped out to a 20-4 lead in the opening 11 minutes of the contest on the way to a 39-15 halftime lead. The Tigers then opened the second half with a 9-1 run which lifted the margin to 48-16.

Cassie Pruzin paced DePauw with 15 points, while Gretchen Haehl added 10 points and a game-high six assists. Emily Marshall led the Tigers with eight rebounds as DePauw held a 45-27 edge on the boards.

LaKeya McGill led Rhodes with 14 points, while Becca Clarin followed with 11. Cameron Whitaker grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds in the loss.

The Tigers shot just 39 percent from the floor, but nailed 7-of-16 three-pointers and held Rhodes to 24 percent from the field. DePauw also committed a season-low seven turnovers in the contest.

DePauw travels to Birmingham-Southern on Sunday for a 1 p.m. CST contest. The game will not count in the SCAC standings as the Panthers are an NCAA Division III provisional member. Birmingham-Southern topped Centre, 86-63, this evening.
