September 22, 2007, Sewanee, Tenn. - Dorrius Ford's second touchdown run of the game, midway through the fourth quarter, and a defensive stand in the closing minute lifted DePauw to a 14-10 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win at Sewanee. DePauw improved to 3-0 overall for the first time since 1985 and also are 2-0 in SCAC play. Sewanee dropped to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Sewanee took its only lead of the game at 10-7 on Andrew Gould's 20-yard field goal with 11:02 remaining before DePauw embarked on an 8-play, 72-yard game-winning scoring drive capped by Ford's 3-yard run with 8:10 left.

Later in the fourth, Adam Hill's 46-yard punt pinned the hosts at their own 9 with 3:34 remaining. Brient Hobbs scampered for 34 yards on third and one and a DePauw pass interference penalty two plays later moved the ball to the DePauw 38. Hobbs picked up one yard on first down, seven on second down, but  was tackled for a 1-yard loss by Tarren Collins on third down. Hobbs' fourth down pass fell incomplete and the Tigers were able to run out the clock for the win.

DePauw took a 7-0 lead in the defensive battle on the first play of the second quarter as Ford scored on a a1-yard run, but Sewanee tied the contest with 5:40 left in the first half on Blake Mears' 1-yard run.

The visiting Tigers outgained Sewanee, 352-288 and held a 19-10 advantage in first downs. DePauw was playing without all-time leading rusher Jeremiah Marks due to injury, but Ford totaled 75 of DePauw's 144 rushing yards. Sewanee rushed for 226 yards with Hobbs leading the way with 71. DePauw outgained Sewanee 208-62 through the air as Spud Dick completed 22 of 32.

Ryan McElwain paced the DePauw defense with eight tackles, while Marc Hoeppner, J.J. Costello and Collins each had seven. Hill averaged 40 yards on his four punts with all four landing at the 10 or inside. Tyler Brantley led Sewanee with 11 stops.

DePauw hosts defending conference champion Millsaps on Saturday at 1 p.m. as part of Family Weekend.
