Eighth-ranked Tigers record 20th victory in win at Hendrix

February 9, 2007, Conway, Ark. - The eighth-ranked Tigers improved to 20-2 overall and 10-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference following a 73-54 win at Hendrix. The Warriors dropped to 18-4 overall and 8-3 with the loss. With the win, DePauw notched its sixth straight 20-win season and 10th in the last 11 years.

The Tigers jumped out to an 8-0 lead and never trailed on the way to their eighth straight victory. DePauw led by as many as 14 in the first half before entering the intermission with a 33-20 advantage. The Warriors closed to within nine early in the second half, but the Tigers gradually pulled away for the win.

Liz Bondi paced the Tigers with 25 points and added 10 rebounds for her ninth career double-double. Gretchen Haehl in her first start of the season added 22 points. Emily Marshall matched a career high with 11 rebounds as DePauw held a 46-28 edge on the boards. Tori Huggins led Hendrix with 25 points, while Bonnie Hicks added 11.

DePauw shot 48 percent from the floor, including 55.6 percent in the first half, while holding the Warriors to just 35 percent for the game and 24.1 percent in the opening 20 minutes.

The Tigers wrap up the weekend with their first-ever game at Austin College. Tipoff on Sunday is set for 2 p.m. CST and the game can heard on WGRE.
