Eighth-ranked DePauw wins seventh straight

February 3, 2007, Danville, Ky. - The eighth-ranked Tigers improved to 19-2 overall and 9-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference following a 77-46 win at Centre. DePauw's win was their seventh straight, while the Colonels dropped to 5-13 overall and 2-8 in the conference.

The Tigers scored the final three points of the first half and the first 16 of the second half on the way to a 34-2 run that put the game away. DePauw shot 50 percent from the floor and knocked down 7-of-15 three-pointers, while Centre hit 27.3 percent for the game and just 11.5 percent in the second half.

Liz Bondi paced DePauw with 13 points, while Bridget Bailey added 12 and Kalei Lowes followed with 10. Bondi grabbed eight rebounds as the Tigers held a 43-31 edge on the boards. Suzy Doughty and Gretchen Haehl each dished out four assists in the win, while Cassie Pruzin totaled five steals.

Chrystal Claunch led Centre with 13 and Chelsea Goodman followed with 10. Keonia Masterson grabbed eight rebounds in the loss.

DePauw returns to action on Friday, February 9, at Hendrix in a 6 p.m. CST game.
