Sixth-ranked Tigers Improve to 7-1

December 21, 2007, Cancun, Mexico - Four Tigers scored in double figures led by Emily Marshall with 12 as sixth-ranked DePauw topped King's 74-44 in the opening game of the Caribbean Showdown. The Tigers improved to 7-1, while King's dropped to 5-5.

The Monarchs scored the game's first points, but the Tigers never trailed from that point forward. DePauw held a 24-19 lead with just under six minutes to play in the first half before outscoring King's 15-5 and head to the break with a 39-24 advantage. DePauw scored the first six points of the second half and were never threatened.

In addition to her team-high 12 points, Marshall grabbed a game-high eight rebounds in just 14 minutes as DePauw held a commanding 49-22 advantage on the boards. Cassie Pruzin followed with 11 points, seven assists and seven rebounds. Gretchen Haehl added 11 points and Jenna Fernandez followed with 10. 

Kaitlyn Fiorino led King's with 13 points, while Lauren Kendra added 12 and Jessica Paettie finished with 10. 

The Tigers shot 45.1 percent for the game, while holding King's to just 37.0 shooting and DePauw hit 8-of-24 three-pointers. 

DePauw faces seventh-ranked Messiah on Friday. Messiah defeated Concordia-Austin, 77-45.
