Tigers extend record win streak to 22

February 12, 2006, Sewanee, Tenn. - Fifth-ranked DePauw held host Sewanee to just 18 percent shooting in the second half on the way to a 79-51 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory.

DePauw improved to 23-1 overall and 13-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and extended its school and SCAC record win streak to 22 games. Sewanee dropped to 11-12 overall and 3-9 in the conference.

The Tigers shot 56 percent in the first half and led by as many as 14 on the way to a 45-38 halftime advantage. DePauw opened the second half with a 16-4 run that pushed the lead to 19 and put the game away.

Liz Bondi led the Tigers with 17 points, while Gretchen Haehl followed with 14 points and hit all four of her three-point attempts. Lindsay Houin chipped in 11 with Caitlin McGonigal and Bridget Bailey each adding 10. Dani Pettay led Sewanee with 15 and Sally Jackson added 11 points and eight rebounds.

Sewanee outrebounded the Tigers 36-34, but committed 23 turnovers to DePauw's 12. In addition to eight points, Suzy Doughty added career highs of eight rebounds and nine assists.

DePauw hosts Rose-Hulman on Saturday, February 18, at 6 p.m.
