Fifth-ranked Tigers roll to school and SCAC-record 21st win

DSC_5993.jpgFebruary 10, 2006, Danville, Ky. - The fifth-ranked Tigers jumped out to a 31-4 lead over the first 15 minutes and never looked back in an 83-31 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win at Centre.

The Tigers improved to 22-1 overall and clinched the number-one seed in the SCAC Tournament with a 12-0 conference mark. The Colonels dropped to 4-16 overall and 2-9 in the SCAC.

Lindsay Houin matched a career high with 16 in the win, while Liz Bondi added 14. Gretchen Haehl followed with 11, while Suzy Doughty and Bridget Bailey each scored 10. The Tigers shot 54.8 percent in the first half on the way to a 43-12 halftime advantage. Monica Vonderbrink paced Centre with 13 points and three steals.

DePauw held a 38-31 advantage on the boards with Houin hauling down nine. Alison Denbow and Ande Loveless each grabbed five for the Colonels.

The Tigers forced Centre into 35 turnovers and recorded a season-high 27 steals led by Bondi's seven.

DePauw travels to Sewanee on Sunday for a 3 p.m. contest, while Centre hosts Rose-Hulman on Sunday.
