Tigers improve to 2-1 with 72-53 win at Fontbonne

November 23, 2005, St. Louis, Mo. - Bridget Bailey scored a career-high 21 points and Liz Bondi added 15 to lead DePauw to a 72-53 win at Fontbonne. The Tigers improved to 2-1 on the season, while the Griffins dropped to 1-2 with the loss.

DePauw led by as many as 17 in the first half at 27-10 following a 19-4 run and went to the break with a 38-26 lead. Fontbonne got no closer than 10 the rest of the way as the Tigers pulled away by holding the Griffins to just seven points in the final eight minutes.

Bailey already achieved her career high at halftime when she poured in 16. She hit 9-of-11 shots from the floor for the game and grabbed seven rebounds in just 22 minutes.

Bondi shared the rebounding honors with seven and added five steals and four assists. Gretchen Haehl dished out six assists and recorded four steals in the win.

Meghan Kohnen paced Fontbonne with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Kate Evers added 12 points and five steals.

DePauw returns to action on Saturday against Hanover in the Fred Raizk Memorial Tournament at Wilmington (Ohio) College.
