Crestview Hills, Ky. - The Tigers' season came to a disappointing conclusion as they dropped their second-round NCAA Championship game at Thomas More by a 68-63 count. DePauw finished with a 26-4 record, while Thomas More improved to 21-5 and advanced to the round of 16 where they will host Wilmington next Friday.

The Tigers scored 11 straight in the first half to push a three-point lead to 14 in a span of just 2:29. They expanded it to as many as 17 on two occasions with the last coming on Jordan Cuddy's jumper with 2:52 left which made it 35-18. The Saints scored eight straight in a two-minute stretch and went to the break trailing 37-26.

Thomas More then opened the second half by scoring the first 12 in the opening five minutes of the half to cap a 20-2 run. The Tigers still held a 59-58 advantage after Lindsay Houin's layup with 2:52 left. Joanna Bess put the Saints in the lead with a three-pointer with 2:14 remaining and then hit one of two free throws with 1:38 left to make it 62-59. On the next possession, Bess came up with a steal and converted it into a layup with 55 seconds left to make it 64-59.

Amy Argetsinger hit a layup with 32 seconds left and Suzy Doughty's stole the inbounds pass and hit the layup to close the margin to 64-63 with 29 seconds remaining. Bess knocked down two free throws with 23 seconds left to push the Saints' lead to 66-63. Tria Yoder's attempt at a game-tying three-pointer with five seconds left was off the mark and Jodi Schroeder put the game away with two free throws.

"It really was a tale of two halves," DePauw coach Kris Huffman said. "We got beat by a very good team tonight."

The Tigers held a 29-11 advantage on the boards in the first half, but in the final 20 minutes Thomas More outrebounded DePauw 25-17.

Jordan Cuddy led the Tigers with 14 points, while Argetsinger posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Suzy Doughty and Colleen Powers each finished with 11 points and Doughty had six assists.

Bess led Thomas More with 17 points, while Allison Byars scored 14. Carrie Clift and Schroeder added 10 apiece. Schroeder grabbed a team-high nine rebounds in the win.

DePauw fired a season-high 27 three-point attempts, but the team ranked fourth in three-point percentage could only connect on five of those.

The Tigers' 26 wins equaled the DePauw single-season record set in 2002. Tria Yoder, Mandy Harrison and Powers wrapped up their collegiate careers as the winningest class in school history with a record of 93-19.
