Las Vegas, Nev. - The Tigers battled back from a 15-point first half deficit, but a late 11-3 run by Wisconsin-Stout gave the Blue Devils a 76-71 victory over sixth-ranked DePauw. The loss snapped the Tigers' six-game win streak and dropped their record to 7-2, while Wisconsin-Stout improved to 8-4 with the victory.

The Blue Devils came out of the gates by hitting six of their first eight shots and held a 16-6 advantage after Molly Hendricks buried a three-pointer with 16:25 left in the half. That lead reached a high of 15 at 28-13 on Liz Eldred's layup with 10:40 remaining in the half.

DePauw gradually chipped away as a layup by Suzy Doughty, a three-point play from Linds ay Houin and another bucket by Doughty cut the gap to 28-20 just two minutes later. The Blue Devils pushed the lead back into double figures with the last time coming at 35-25 with four minutes to play in the half.

The Tigers put together an 11-2 run over a 1:44 stretch to cut the margin to 37-36 before the teams went to the break with Wisconsin-Stout holding a 39-37 edge.

After the Blue Devils opened the half with a free throw, the Tigers took their first lead of the game when Sarah Zondor and Houin hit back-to-back buckets and Zondor knockd down a pair of free throws to maked it 43-40 just two minutes into the half.

The lead see-sawed for much of the second half with a total of six ties and 12 lead changes. Gretchen Haehl's two free throws with 4:26 remaining broke the game's eighth tie and gave DePauw a 67-65 advantage. Amy Argetsinger make one of two free throws to make it 68-65 with 4:08 remaining

Lindsey Geissler hit back-to-back layups to put the Blue Devils back in front at 69-68 with 3:35 left. Kelsey Duoss pushed the lead to 70-68 with a free throw at thre 2:16 mark after the Blue Devils grabbed three offensive rebounds on the possession.

A three-point play by Duoss with 1:32 left made it 73-68, but Zondor's three-pointer with 1:08 remaining cut the margin to 73-71. Lindsey Erichsen's layup with 46 seconds left pushed the gap to 75-71.

Zondor's driving layup with 28 seconds was off the mark and the Tigers sent Erin Churchill to the line where she hit one of two shots to make it 76-71. The Tigers weren't able to get a shot off until seven seconds remained and the Blue Devils grabbed that rebound and ran out the clock.

During the game-ending 11-3 run by Stout, the Tigers hit just one of eight shots and were outrebounded 11-5.

Zondor and Argetsinger led all scorers with 17 points apiece, while Houin chipped in 12 and a team-high nine rebounds. Duoss led the Blue Devils with 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds with  Erichsen adding 14 points. Geissler scored 13 and Churchill rounded out the double-figure scorers with 12.

The Tigers shot just 38.3 percent from the field which was their second-worst outing of the season and they were outrebounded for the first time this season with Stout holding a 46-38 advantage.

DePauw returns to action on Wednesday, December 29, when it hosts Earlham College at 6 p.m. in the first annual Amy Hasbrook Memorial Tournament. Anderson and Thomas More square off in the first game at 4 p.m. DePauw takes on Anderson on Thursday, December 30, at 6 p.m. with Thomas More and Earlham tangling at 4 p.m. in the classic format.
