18th-ranked Tigers win eighth straight

Terre Haute, Ind. - The Tigers never trailed in their Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game at Rose-Hulman and earned a 73-43 victory over the Engineers.

The win, the Tigers' eighth straight and 14th in the last 15 games, lifted their overall record to 19-3 and their SCAC mark to 11-1. Rose-Hulman fell to 3-20 overall and 0-12 in SCAC play.

Amy Argetsinger led the Tigers with 15 points, while Sarah Zondor followed with 13. Anna Hall paced the Engineers with 14 points.

DePauw, ranked 18th in the latest USA Today/ESPN/WBCA poll and 19th by D3hoops.com, turned a 4-4 tie into a 20-6 advantage with a 16-2 run in the first half. That lead reached as much as 17 points and the Tigers led at the break 32-17.

The Engineers scored the opening basket of the second half, but DePauw scored the next seven and 18 of the next 22 to put the game away.

The Tigers shot just under 51 percent for the game marking their second straight game of shooting over 50 percent from the floor.

DePauw concludes SCAC regular season play next Friday at Trinity and on Sunday at Southwestern.
