Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw, ranked 21st in Division III, improved to 7-1 on the season with a 67-50 win over visiting North Central College. The win was the seventh straight for the Tigers. The Cardinals dropped to 4-5 on the season.
A cool shooting first half by both teams resulted in a 24-24 deadlock before DePauw went on an 18-4 run to open the second half. Sarah Zondor scored eight of her game-high 22 points in the stretch. DePauw later led by as many as 24 on the way to the victory.
"We definitely played better in the second half," DePauw coach Kris Huffman said. "We were much more aggressive, but we need to play that both halves."
Zondor scored 16 of her 22 in the second half to lead DePauw, while Tria Yoder added 10. Amy Argetsinger grabbed 10 rebounds and Mandy Harrison dished out a career-best 11 assists in the victory. Danielle Tinkoff paced the Cardinals with 15 points and eight rebounds.
DePauw shot 43.8 percent for the game including 51.5 percent in the second half, while North Central shot 38.9 percent for the contest. DePauw held a 39-34 edge on the boards.
