For the second straight night, DePauw's Amy Argetsinger established a career high in points as she led the Tigers to a 77-65 victory over host Maryville (Tenn.) in the Maryville Thanksgiving Classic. DePauw improved to 3-1 with its third straight win, while Maryville dropped to 2-3.
After finishing with 25 in a win over 20th-ranked Mount St. Mary on Friday, Argetsinger led the Tigers with 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Maryville. Sarah Zondor scored 15, while Jordan Cuddy added 11 and Lindsay Houin scored 10 in the win. Hayley Smith paced the Fighting Scots with 30 points, while Charise Baine added 16 points and 12 rebounds.
The Tigers trailed by as many as 10 in the first half and were down 27-23 at halftime. The Fighting Scots opened the second half with a bucket before DePauw scored nine straight points in a span of just under three minutes to take a 32-29 advantage. Maryville was still within three at 47-44, but the Tigers scored 11 consecutive points over the next three minutes to put the game out of reach.
DePauw returns to action on Friday, December 5, when it hosts Manchester at 8 p.m. in the DePauw Classic.
