Greencastle, Ind. - Sarah Zondor scored a career-high 21 points including 16 in the second half to lead DePauw to a 79-63 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over visiting Centre.

DePauw, ranked 22nd by D3hoops.com and 25th in the USA Today/ESPN/WBCA poll, improved to 14-3 overall and took over second place in the SCAC with a 6-1 conference record. Centre slipped to 9-9 overall and 5-2 in the SCAC.

DePauw used a late first-half run to pull away during a tight half that included seven ties and six lead changes. Centre held a 24-22 advantage after Jennifer Patterson hit two free throws with 7:09 remaining, but DePauw scored 11 straight as Heather Wiles hit a pair of threes with Tria Yoder and Sarah Zondor each scored baskets to give DePauw a 33-24 lead with 2:40 left in the half.

That lead reached as many as 12 at 38-26 after Zondor knocked down a three with 1:20 left. Centre rallied with five straight as Amy Barlow converted a three-point play and Beth Johnson added a basket to make the halftime score 38-31.

Centre then opened the second half with seven straight points to tie the score at 38-38 as Misti Carpenter scored four and Beth Johnson added three during the stretch.

DePauw, which missed its first nine field goal tries of the second half, got its first points of the half on Dana Ferguson's three-point play at the 14:59 mark.

The lead see-sawed back and forth with Centre holding its last advantage at 49-48 with 11:11 left after Patterson's layup. The Tigers scored five straight on Zondor's three and a pair of free throws by Yoder, but Centre closed the gap back to 53-52 after Sarah Fouts knocked down a trey.

A pair of free throws by Amy Argetsinger and back-to-back threes from Yoder and Zondor capped an 8-0 run that pushed the Tigers' lead to 61-52 with 7:38 left. The Colonels got no closer than eight the rest of the way and the Tigers led by as many as 18.

The Tigers equaled a school record with 11 three-pointers with Zondor knocking down five. Zondor was five-of-six from the floor in the second half as she made her first five attempts including four three-pointers.

Ferguson added 16 points with Wiles scoring 11. All of Wiles' points came in the first half on four-of-four shooting from the floor. Yoder dropped in 10 in the win and dished out five assists.

Patterson paced Centre with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Barlow finished with 15 points and five assists. Johnson added 13 points and Carpenter had 10 in the losing effort.

The Tigers knocked down 18 of 19 free throws, while Centre hit 15 of 16. The Colonels held a 29-25 advantage on the boards and DePauw committed just nine turnovers for their second straight game in single digits.

DePauw is at Oglethorpe on Friday, January 31, at 6 p.m., while Centre is at Sewanee on Saturday, Feburary 1, at 1 p.m. CST.
