Greencastle, Ind. - It didn't take third-ranked DePauw long to take care of business on Sunday afternoon in its 97-62 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over visiting Oglethorpe.

In fact, in the first 6:12, the Tigers (11-0, 6-0 SCAC) were perfect on all 10 of their field goal attempts in jumping out to a 23-7 lead over the Stormy Petrels (1-9, 0-5). That advantage was stretched to 28-7 with 11:35 left in the first half.

The Tigers led at the break by a 48-28 count after shooting nearly 68 percent from the field and placing three players in double figures.

As in the first half, DePauw blitzed Oglethorpe in the opening minutes of the second half with a 21-2 run over the first 5:41 of the half to take a 69-30 lead. That margin reached as many as 46 points at 81-35 with 10:43 left in the contest.

Senior Joe Nixon scored 16 for the Tigers.

The victory extended DePauw's win streak to a Division III-best 16 straight and the Tigers took over sole possession of first place in the SCAC as Millsaps defeated Rose-Hulman by a 78-74 score in overtime.

Mike Howland led the Tigers with a season-high 21 points and 10 assists and was perfect on all seven of his field goal attempts including five from three-point range. Joe Ringger and Joe Nixon each scored 16 and Ringger, too, hit all seven of his field goal tries. Jeremy Bettis added 14 to round out DePauw's double-digit scorers. Ringger grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, while Nixon and Bettis each dished out five assists.

The DePauw starters combined to hit 28 of 36 from the floor to lead the Tigers to 65 percent shooting for the game.

Jimmy Wood paced Oglethorpe with 21 points followed by Russ Churchwell and Joel Garrison with 10 points apiece. Churchwell grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
