Greencastle, Ind. - The Tigers, ranked 12th in the latest USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Division III poll and 15th according to D3hoops.com, improved to 15-2 overall and 10-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 52-38 win over visiting Hendrix College. The victory was DePauw's 14th straight. Hendrix dropped to 7-10 overall and 3-7 in the SCAC.
DePauw took an early 9-0 lead as it held the Warriors scoreless over the first seven minutes of the contest. Hendrix closed the gap to 9-7 in a matter of 2:23, but the Tigers scored the next seven to push the lead to 16-7 with 6:48 remaining in the half. DePauw led at the break 28-13 and went to the intermission with just two turnovers in the opening 20 minutes.
Hendrix would get no closer than 10 in the second half as the Tigers led by as many as 17 late in the contest.
Jill Schneider was the lone Tiger in double figures with 10 points, while Amy Argetsinger, Kim Weigle, Lindsey Blackman and Colleen Powers each recorded five rebounds. DePauw held a 37-27 advantage on the boards.
Senior Lindsey Rush scored seven and dished out two assists in her first game since tearing her ACL in November.
Pre-season all-American Lindsey Rush, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament on November 8, saw action for the first time this season and finished with seven points and two assists in 10 minutes.
Hannah Ketter led Hendrix with 13 points and Deidre Wyrick grabbed seven rebounds. Kim Davis totaled four steals in the losing effort.
DePauw hosts Rhodes College on Sunday at 3 p.m.
